Largest eSports prize pool for a single tournament

The largest prize pool for an eSports tournament is $40,018,195 (£30,944,400), which was raised between 22 May and 9 October 2020 by in-game purchases by players in Valve's multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA), Dota 2.

The prize pool was to be dispensed at The International 2020 (originally scheduled for 18–23 Aug 2020 at the Avicii Arena in Stockholm, Sweden), yet as the tournament was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, players had to wait over a year until The International 2021 for a chance to win some of the money.

The International 2021 took place between 7–17 October 2021 at the Arena Națională in Bucharest, Romania.
